An artist based in Hamburg, Germany, Tona once carried out a project in 2019 placing stencils with characters of children throughout numerous cities in Japan. First, TONA takes photographs of their honest expressions, unencumbered by adult-hesitation when reacting to art. Then, TONA painstakingly transforms these photos into heavily detailed stencils, which become a basis for works used in both his studio as well as streets around the world.
